What will you do?

With from our office in Rotterdam, you’ll have the opportunity to serve both our international clients, who have permanent establishments or subsidiaries in the Netherlands, and our Dutch clients operating globally. This diverse clientele includes an American hamburger chain with locations in the Netherlands, a Mexican lemon producer that has taken the leap into the European market, and a Dutch transportation company with subsidiaries in multiple countries. Notably, Brexit has prompted many British clients to move their business to Europe. Additionally, we have clients from diverse locations such as South Africa, Germany, and the rest of Europe.

You are key to the client’s administrative process and ensure that the process runs optimally. Overall, you’re the right hand of the signing accountant, ensuring everything is streamlined, communication with the client runs smoothly, all projects run on time, and that all necessary information is available. Or basically ensure that the signing accountant can focus on advising the client without having to investigate, retrieve, or calculate things themselves.

The international team consists of 17 colleagues (compilation: 4, audit: 7, tax: 3-4, HR/Payroll: 3-4). Occasionally, you might also work for clients whom you seldom or never meet in person. Both forms of regular remote work require empathy and a different kind of consideration. For colleagues within Visser & Visser, you are a dependable point of contact for any questions in the field of international entrepreneurship. Typically, we work together at our Rotterdam office one day per week, but other than that you have the flexibility to work from any of our locations, including partial remote work from home.

All in all, this role is both stimulating and interesting due to the substantive complexity and the strong trusted advisor role. You stand next to the entrepreneur, are someone who thinks along, a sparring partner.

Who are you?

You have completed your education in Accountancy or Business economics and have approximately 5 years of relevant work experience. You strive to completely unburden our clients and give them your full attention. You have an understanding of other cultures and are open-minded. You are not afraid of peak work and understand that, sometimes, phone calls with clients outside standard office hours are a possibility. You take full responsibility towards your clients, of course in collaboration with the whole team. This means that you will serve a diverse group of clients where professional issues are handled quickly and adequately.

What we expect from you:

  • Skills This also counts for any experience with IFRS / SMEs (Small & Medium Entities)
  • Skills With a reasonable foundation and a bit of courage, you know how to manage yourself in the English language. Do you want to improve your English? We can offer you language training through “Nonnen van Vught.”
  • Experience Experience, or a strong affinity, with international organizations is interesting to us
  • Experience A minimum of three years general accountancy experience
  • Education An Associate or University degree in Accountancy or Business Economics
